The register of requirements

For highly motivated Christian MPhil holders with a clear academic calling and a serious desire to build a long-term career within the University of Gold Coast.

Requirement
1
A committed Christian with evidence of active participation in a recognised church or Christian ministry.

Hold an MPhil or equivalent research master’s degree from a recognised university.

Demonstrate strong academic performance through official transcripts and prior research work.

Submit a clear doctoral research concept aligned with the University’s academic priorities.

Provide evidence of research potential through a thesis, paper, presentation, working paper or publication.

Demonstrate a genuine commitment to building a long-term academic career.

Be willing to serve as a Doctoral Teaching Fellow during the scholarship period.

Undertake a minimum of twelve teaching hours per week during active teaching periods.

Accept the five-year post-completion service bond with the University.

Demonstrate integrity, discipline, humility, Christian character and institutional loyalty.

The selection process is highly competitive. A strong applicant will normally present:

  • An excellent MPhil academic record
  • A high-quality thesis or research output
  • At least one publication or publishable manuscript
  • A compelling doctoral research proposal
  • Evidence of strong academic writing ability
  • Academic, pastoral and professional references
  • Clear teaching potential and leadership maturity
  • Exceptional research promise and readiness
